'Silence Day I II & Red' by Balinese artist, I Kayan Karja. This horizontal triptych combines soft colour contrasts with interesting quiet and vivid shades. The Day of Silence in Bali is a day for reflection, fasting and meditation. This painting seems to me a spiritual work of art.
Detail from 'Relais' by Edouard Benedictus. These striking shapes may be influenced by African art but they also remind me of some of the illustrations for Coronavirus.
'Plate 14 from variations, Paris, 1924'. I was interested in the relationships between these geometric shapes and abstract floral motifs.
'Kaleidoscope' by Adam and Maurice-Pillard Verneuil. I like the strong colour contrasts and vivid geometric shapes, including rectangular and curved lines, sun-ray bursts and zigzags, in this design
